A non-commercial supplier due-diligence checklist

Questions overseas buyers can use when moving from public research to their own direct verification.

START WITH THREE QUESTIONS

What a careful reader should establish.

  1. Does the legal entity match the contracting and payment entity?
  2. Are products, processes and certificates within the verified scope?
  3. Have samples, audits and contract controls been completed?
01

Identity comes before capability

Confirm the Chinese legal name, registration status, operating address, contracting entity and payment beneficiary. Similar English names and shared brands can conceal different legal entities.

  • Legal name and unified social credit code
  • Contract and bank beneficiary consistency
  • Operating address and contact ownership
02

Capability requires evidence at product level

A broad company profile cannot establish suitability for a specific part. Verify drawings, process route, equipment, inspection capacity, subcontracting, samples and change-control arrangements.

  • Product-specific process and equipment
  • Inspection method and calibrated equipment
  • Sample approval and change control
